About the Role

Gestalt Community Schools is seeking a highly qualified English Teacher to join our team. As a Dual Enrollment English Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching high school students and also working with college students in a dual enrollment program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Curriculum
    • Design and implement weekly lesson plans for high school English students
    • Develop and administer standards-based assessments to measure student progress
    • Analyze assessment data to inform instruction and make data-driven decisions
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Work closely with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum and assessments
    • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure student success
  • Professional Development
    • Participate in regular professional development training to stay current on best practices in teaching and learning
Requirements
  • Education and Certification
    • Holds a current TN teaching license in English/Language Arts with appropriate endorsement code 001, 007, 101, 121, 159, 400, 401, 402, 407, 440
    • Master's degree in English or 18 graduate hours in English
  • Experience and Skills
    • Proven track record of academic success as evident in TVAAS, state assessments, and value-added data
    • Ability to work in an extended day environment
    • Ability to teach in an inclusion environment with a co-teacher
    • Good communication and written skills
    • Team player with strong interpersonal skills
