Job Title: Accounting Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team at Proofpoint. As an Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the general accounting functions, including general ledger, account reconciliations, payroll accounting, fixed assets, and inventory. You will also be responsible for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close procedures, including journal entries and account reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the general accounting functions, including general ledger, account reconciliations, payroll accounting, fixed assets, and inventory.
  • Responsible for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close procedures, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Manage and guide the GL team to execute accounting processes and support their professional growth.
  • Review balance sheet and income statement fluctuation analysis on a monthly and quarterly basis for management and audit review.
  • Collaborate with the accounting team and cross-functionally to enhance accounting procedures and systems.
  • Maintain a strong internal control environment, updating controls and processes as needed.
  • Manage the Fixed Assets and streamline the fixed asset process for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Promote a culture of improvement and operational innovation.
  • Lead or participate in special projects and ad-hoc reporting, as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • CPA is a plus.
  • Minimum of 7 years of general accounting experience in industry and/or a public accounting firm with a minimum of 3 years of management experience.
  • Strong Excel skills required.
  • Demonstrate excellent working knowledge of US GAAP.
  • Superior organization and verbal/communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional analytical and prioritization skills.
  • Experience with ERP (MS Dynamics D365) and FloQast is a plus.
