Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant General Manager to join our team at the VETERANS HEALTH ADMINISTRATION. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our food service facilities, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maintaining high standards of food quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote a culture of customer satisfaction and loyalty
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Direct and supervise a team of food service staff
  • Manage inventory, labor costs, and budget
  • Develop and implement local promotional programs
  • Monitor and maintain high standards of food quality and presentation
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of direct food/retail management experience
  • Proven track record of building sales, increasing profits, and staff development
  • Prior inventory management, supply cost, and shrinkage controls, and P&L management
  • Ability to assess business needs and problem solve
  • Hands-on leadership with a strong focus on service and hospitality
  • Proficient computer skills using Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Experience with POS Systems
  • ServSafe certification required or obtained within 90 days of hire date
Education

Associate Degree preferred, but not required, in Business, Hospitality, or Management.
