About the Role:

The Project Engineer will assist the Project Manager and Superintendent in the day-to-day management of $20+ million construction projects. This role will contribute to all activities required to source, pursue, and build a project, including cost estimation, contract administration, schedule management, and risk-quality management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparation of general contract and subcontract administration
  • Participate in bid solicitation, bid package preparation, and analysis
  • Prepare full cost estimates, including quantity take-offs and pricing
  • Identify and pursue new business development opportunities
  • Manage and process shop drawings and submittals
  • On-site management of the project, assisting the superintendent
  • Coordinate material and equipment procurement and expediting
  • Facilitate the RFI process
  • Document project coordination meetings for distribution
  • Monitor project schedules to ensure adherence to key dates
  • Initiate, review, and negotiate change orders
  • Oversee the entire close-out process, including creation and completion of punch lists

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Civil, Architectural, or Construction), construction management, or a related field
  • 1-2 years' experience in commercial construction
  • Relevant experience supporting construction projects from conception to completion in diverse commercial market sectors
  • Prior conceptual estimating and bidding experience with emphasis in commercial construction is preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
  • Proficiency with computer applications, including Procore, Microsoft Office suite, and SharePoint
