The Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a highly skilled Vice President of Operations to join their team. As a key member of the leadership team, this individual will be responsible for overseeing the planning, direction, and execution of all administrative operations, human resources, and clinical services.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of experience in an administrative or management capacity, with a proven track record of success in managing and coordinating activities of clerical, administrative, and call center personnel. They will also have expertise in analyzing internal processes and implementing procedural and policy changes to improve operations.

Responsibilities will include:

  1. Managing and coordinating activities of clerical, administrative, and call center personnel of the department
  2. Analyzing internal processes and implementing procedural and policy changes to improve operations
  3. Recommending cost-saving methods, such as supply changes and disposal of records, to improve efficiency of the department
  4. Preparing and reviewing operational reports and schedules to ensure accuracy and efficiency
  5. Assisting in the planning of budgetary needs by analyzing short and long-term program plans and collaborating with department leadership to assure the completion of the annual budget and subsequent monitoring of financial status of the department, unit, or division
  6. Interpreting and administering personnel policies, such as hiring, performance appraisals, training, staff disciplinary activity, and salary recommendations, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding equal pay and equal employment
  7. Facilitating the creation of training programs and conducting training for staff to carry out departmental programs and services
  8. Facilitating the implementation of quality assurance programs to meet standards and regulations of federal, state, and city accrediting agencies
  9. Ensuring that standards and regulations of accrediting agencies, such as Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare (JCAHO) and New York State and City Department of Health, are met
  10. Chairing department committees and participating in hospital committees as assigned

The estimated salary for this position is between $120,000 to $180,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
