Leader of Renewable Energy Initiatives

Position Summary:
Langan is seeking a Renewable Energy Practice Leader to play a pivotal role in advancing Langan's strategic expansion within the renewable energy sector on a national scale. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate cross-functionally with firm leadership, driving the development of a diverse portfolio of premier renewable energy projects. The ideal candidate will embody an entrepreneurial spirit while benefiting from extensive resources for successful integration and career advancement at Langan, including support from multi-disciplinary leadership throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee multi-disciplinary efforts on various project sites, focusing on renewable energy initiatives, including development, permitting, and construction oversight of renewable energy land development projects;
- Lead business development efforts by cultivating new renewable energy clients and enhancing relationships with existing clients;
- Manage multiple projects and tasks within established budgets, timelines, and deadlines;
- Draft and review proposals and reports, including feasibility studies, stormwater management reports, technical specifications, and utility reports;
- Supervise and mentor a team of technical professionals engaged in renewable energy-related assessments, design, and permitting tasks.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred;
- 12+ years of experience in developing, permitting, and overseeing the construction of renewable energy and/or linear infrastructure projects;
- 7+ years of experience in multidisciplinary Project Management;
- Familiarity with land use processes and regulations;
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
- Possession of a valid Professional Engineer, Professional Geologist, Professional Wetland Scientist, or AICP license is advantageous;
- Strong abilities in client development, communication, and management, with a proven track record of generating new business;
- Self-motivated individual capable of managing, mentoring, and leading teams;
- Demonstrated capability in managing projects from concept through to construction documentation;
- Active involvement in professional organizations;
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including technical and proposal writing;
- Meticulous attention to detail with strong analytical and judgment skills;
- A valid driver's license in good standing is preferred.
