Position Overview
AECOM is seeking a skilled Renewable Energy NEPA Compliance Specialist to assist in compliance initiatives for renewable energy and transmission line projects on federal lands. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in leading and contributing to intricate environmental studies and permitting processes for renewable energy initiatives. This role demands exceptional communication, technical, and writing abilities, as well as a keen attention to detail and the capacity to guide a multidisciplinary team. Opportunities for professional advancement include developing client relationships, engaging in marketing and business development, and overseeing interdisciplinary teams on a variety of complex projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage or assist in the preparation of NEPA documentation.
- Oversee the development of operational and utilization plans.
- Evaluate the necessity and adequacy of technical studies and management strategies.
- Utilize knowledge of planning and NEPA regulations to advise clients in the renewable energy sector.
- Organize and facilitate public and agency meetings.
- Supervise internal project teams and deliverables.
- Act as a consultant and advisor in specialized technical areas.
- Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations.
- Collaborate effectively to achieve successful outcomes on multiple ongoing projects.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in environmental permitting and planning, or equivalent experience and education.
- Over 10 years of experience in NEPA compliance, report generation, and environmental regulations.
- Experience with solar energy projects, other renewable sources, or transmission lines on federal lands.
- Project management experience.
- Familiarity with federal environmental legislation and its regulations, including the National Environmental Policy Act, Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, Endangered Species Act, and the National Historic Preservation Act.
- Awareness of current issues and projects concerning the Bureau of Land Management, Forest Service, and other federally managed lands.
