Job Overview

Eastridge Workforce Solutions is collaborating with a privately owned firm to seek a Procurement Specialist. This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient acquisition of goods and services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Generate purchase orders for designated products and services, negotiate costs, and guarantee supplier adherence to delivery schedules and quality standards; address any invoice discrepancies.
  • Identify and evaluate both new and existing key suppliers, including exploring dual sourcing options for essential long lead-time components.
  • Establish and nurture supplier relationships to achieve optimal pricing, service, quality, and delivery timelines.
  • Promote cost reduction and avoidance initiatives; engage in cost-saving projects.
  • Maintain ideal inventory levels to minimize expenses while ensuring high service quality; proactively prevent material shortages.
  • Oversee supplier performance; ensure suppliers meet acceptable standards and participate in Supplier Team Audits and site evaluations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, such as customer service, engineering, manufacturing, quality, and accounting, to enhance processes in support of exceptional customer service.
  • Work closely with Supplier Quality to address defective or unsatisfactory goods or services, identifying root causes and implementing corrective measures to mitigate production impact.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5-7 years of experience in Purchasing/Supply Chain, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or a related business field is preferred.
  • CPM or APICS certification is a plus.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and discuss specifications such as dimensions, tolerances, and finishes with suppliers.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Team-oriented mindset with the capability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Robust analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to plan, manage, and prioritize multiple deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Publisher.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical operations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Physical requirements include regular communication, frequent sitting, and occasional standing or walking; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Specific vision abilities required for this role include close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
