Role Summary: The Automation Technician plays a crucial role in supporting machinery and operational processes while addressing and resolving equipment performance challenges. Success in this role hinges on effective problem-solving and leveraging technical expertise to identify the underlying causes of issues rather than merely addressing surface symptoms. The ideal candidate is proactive, a natural troubleshooter, and adept at managing multiple tasks in high-pressure situations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reduce machine downtime and enhance production efficiency.
- Apply a robust background in automation and problem-solving to troubleshoot both existing and new machinery.
- Identify root causes of equipment malfunctions and enhance process efficiency.
- Diagnose issues across electrical, mechanical, automation, software, and hydraulic systems.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement innovative solutions for improved production performance.
- Work alongside Manufacturing Engineers to provide insights on design concepts and long-term corrective measures for production challenges.
- Oversee the procurement of tools and fixtures.
- Assist in determining necessary spare or repair parts for assembly lines and facilitate their ordering.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree or equivalent military or formal training in Industrial Automation Technology, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or Electronics.
- Experience in machine troubleshooting and process control, with familiarity in CAD.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
