The IT Help Desk Specialist acts as the primary resource for user assistance, addressing a range of issues related to technology. The specialist will collaborate closely with users and fellow technicians to ensure efficient resolution of inquiries and technical challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Resolve issues concerning computer hardware, software applications, network access, and data retrieval for users.
- Diagnose and rectify system and network complications, including hardware and software malfunctions, and replace components as necessary.
- Execute work orders for hardware and software installations, user account management, and mobile device setups across various platforms.
- Conduct system maintenance tasks, including software updates, security enhancements, and configuration assessments.
- Manage procurement of computers, software, mobile devices, and related supplies.
- Facilitate the setup and dismantling of remote office environments, which may involve travel.
- Provide training sessions for employees on the effective use of company systems and applications.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
This position operates within a standard office setting. The role may require lifting equipment and boxes weighing up to 50 pounds, as well as utilizing hand tools for PC repairs and network connections. Participation in an on-call rotation for after-hours support is expected, with travel requirements of approximately 10%.
Essential Skills:
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in a technical support role is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Self-motivated, organized, and capable of working independently or collaboratively.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in a professional context.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and evolving IT landscape.
Required Experience:
- Proficiency with Windows 10 and 11 operating systems.
- Experience with Office 365 administration and usage.
- Capability to troubleshoot Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience resolving hardware issues on PC and Android devices.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory is advantageous.
- Basic knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP protocols.
- Experience with mobile devices, including Windows Mobile, Android, and Apple products.
Educational Background:
Relevant technology certifications are considered beneficial.
