The IT Support Specialist acts as the primary resource for user assistance, addressing a variety of issues related to technology. This role encompasses responsibilities for hardware, software, printing, connectivity, mobile devices, and user account management. The specialist will engage with users to resolve inquiries and collaborate with fellow technicians to ensure efficient problem resolution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and resolve issues pertaining to computer hardware, software, network access, and data retrieval for end users.
- Conduct troubleshooting for systems and network challenges, identifying and rectifying hardware/software malfunctions, including part replacements as necessary.
- Execute work orders related to hardware and software installations, user account updates, and mobile device configurations across various platforms.
- Maintain systems through software updates, security enhancements, and configuration assessments.
- Manage procurement of computers, software, mobile devices, peripherals, and necessary supplies.
- Facilitate the setup and dismantling of remote office environments, which may involve occasional travel.
- Deliver training sessions to staff on the effective use of company systems and applications.
- Perform additional tasks as required.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
This role is situated in a standard office setting. The position may require lifting equipment and boxes weighing up to 50 pounds. Proficiency with hand tools related to PC repairs and network segments is necessary. Participation in an on-call rotation may be required, with travel expectations around 10%.
Essential Skills:
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in a help desk capacity is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Self-motivated, organized, and proactive in approach.
- Capability to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in a professional context.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic IT landscape.
Required Experience:
- Familiarity with Windows 10 and 11 operating systems.
- Experience with Office 365 administration and usage.
- Proficient in troubleshooting Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to diagnose hardware issues on PC and Android devices.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory is advantageous.
- Basic understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP protocols.
- Experience with mobile devices across various platforms.
Educational Background:
Relevant technology certifications are beneficial.
