Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general patient care following established clinic workflows.
  • Greet and prepare patients for the healthcare provider by completing intake duties such as obtaining and recording vital signs, reviewing drug allergies and current medications, completing applicable screening questionnaires, and documenting reason for visit.
  • Collect and prepare ordered specimens for laboratory analysis.
  • Prepare and provide ordered medications and/or vaccines to patients.
  • Clean and sterilize instruments.
  • Ensure patient exam rooms are stocked, clean, and orderly.
  • Escalate non-routine issues, questions, and/or concerns timely and appropriately.
  • Ensure safety checklists and quality controls are completed as required and necessary action taken if indicated.
  • Perform other duties within scope of role as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • State of Iowa-approved EMT training program graduate.
  • Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) license issued from State of Iowa.
  • Active status on Iowa Medication Aide Registry within 90 days of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS).
