Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain close relationships with current distributors, jointly develop sales goals, and evaluate progress to achieve optimum market coverage.
  • Develop additional channels of sale to increase sales to specific markets or for specific products.
  • Locate, contact, qualify, and secure business with existing or potential direct customers, OEMs, re-sale, and National Accounts.
  • Have a thorough understanding of the geographic territory, market potential, current market penetration, and opportunities to increase such penetration.
  • Expert knowledge of the entire Peninsular cylinder product line, including performance, mechanical operation, proper applications, and customer features and benefits.
  • Complete understanding of local competition, its marketing strengths and weaknesses, product offerings, and effective marketing strategies.
  • Plan, schedule, and conduct sales meetings to instruct distributor personnel on existing and new product offerings, engineering and policy changes, special pricing, terms, and discounts.
  • Report monthly progress activities, including distributor performance, projections on future sales activity, significant competitive actions, obstacles, and opportunities to sell more products.
  • Work with channels of sale to pursue a wider variety of product applications on all Peninsular cylinder products.
  • Operate within approved sales expense budgets.
  • Coordinate and cooperate with other divisional functional areas to establish and perpetuate open two-way communication.
  • Develop and present an Annual Goal Plan for net sales and profit.
  • Maximize gross profit margins through either the distributor or a direct account.
