Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the investment and administration account review process, ensuring timely compliance with governing documents, fiduciary administration principles, and legal standards.
- Evaluate, authorize, and manage the disbursement of fiduciary funds in accordance with trust conditions and beneficiary needs, while supervising fiduciary accounts, cash balances, investment allocations, tax management, and asset holdings.
- Enhance policy and procedure design, training, and implementation for trust-related personnel.
- Actively participate in trust department audits and regulatory review examinations.
- Lead resolution efforts for audit findings and compliance issues as assigned.
- Supervise the preparation and submission of fiduciary federal and state tax returns for client trusts.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of and adhere to all relevant tax and fiduciary laws, federal and state regulations, and First Western policies.
- Monitor and mitigate risks associated with account administration, including timely review and approval of administrative and unique asset evaluations.
- Serve as a resource for support teams and profit centers.
- Consult with estate planning attorneys, accountants, wealth advisors, and both potential and existing clients to promote fiduciary and additional First Western services.
- Provide leadership to the trust administration team by guiding members on fiduciary matters, ensuring task completion, meeting goals, and offering coaching and development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly with advanced Excel skills. Familiarity with one or more trust accounting systems is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of trust and tax regulations, trust products, services, and operations.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong presentation capabilities.
- Experience in managing relationships with high-net-worth clients.
- Outstanding leadership and business development abilities.
- Well-honed analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Team-oriented and detail-focused; capable of organizing, prioritizing, and multitasking.
Educational Background:
Bachelor's Degree in a business-related field is preferred.
Experience Requirements:
5-7 years in Trust Relationship Management is required.
5-7 years in Leadership and Business Development is required.
Licenses/Certifications:
CTFA is required upon hire.
Financial Designation is preferred upon hire.
