Fiduciary Officer I Job Description

First Western is seeking a highly skilled Fiduciary Officer I to play a vital role in helping high-net-worth clients achieve their financial goals. As a Fiduciary Officer I, you will work closely with our Fiduciary Management team to deliver comprehensive solutions that exceed client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Investment and Administration Account Review: Ensure timely and consistent account reviews in accordance with governing documents, fiduciary administration principles, and legal standards.
  • Fiduciary Fund Disbursement: Review, approve, and direct disbursement of fiduciary funds according to trust conditions and beneficiary needs, while providing oversight of fiduciary accounts, cash balances, investment allocations, tax management, and asset holdings.
  • Policy and Procedure Development: Support the design, training, and delivery of improved policies and procedures for trust-related personnel.
  • Trust Department Audits and Regulatory Reviews: Actively engage in trust department-related audits and regulatory review exams, and lead resolution efforts for audit and exam findings.
  • Fiduciary Tax Returns: Oversee the preparation and filing of fiduciary federal and state tax returns for clients' trusts.
  • Risk Management: Monitor and control risks related to account administration, including review and approval of administrative and unique asset reviews in a timely manner.
  • Leadership and Support: Provide leadership to the trust administration team, offering guidance on fiduciary matters, ensuring tasks are completed, goals are met, and providing coaching and development opportunities.
Requirements:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in one or more trust accounting systems.
  • Trust and Tax Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of trust and tax laws, trust products, services, and operations.
  • Communication and Leadership Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong presentation skills, and experience working with high-net-worth clients.
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in a business-related field, 5-7 years of experience in trust relationship management, and 5-7 years of leadership and business development experience.
  • Licenses and Certifications: CTFA certification upon hire, and financial designation upon hire (preferred).
