Position Overview

Leidos is in search of a skilled Systems Administrator to collaborate on a significant enterprise IT initiative for the Department of Defense (DOD). The selected candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing existing enterprise identity management frameworks, resolving incidents, and facilitating the transition of new functionalities from the engineering team to operational status. Responsibilities will encompass assessing the health and performance, operations, and upkeep of identity management platforms including Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Azure Active Directory Connect (AADC), Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS), ADFS Web Application Proxy (WAP), Quest Active Roles Server (ARS), Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM), Forefront Identity Manager (FIM), and various LDAP Border Directory Systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Remotely access end-user devices (desktops and/or servers) to execute technical configurations, reboots, and other remedial actions to assist in troubleshooting authentication issues.
  • Support the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of identity management systems, swiftly distinguishing between isolated user issues and broader enterprise application/system challenges.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather data, perform analyses, and develop and implement solutions related to incident tickets and requirements.
  • Build and deploy Domain Controllers and other identity management servers remotely at customer sites following approved installation protocols.
  • Provide detailed follow-up reports including technical findings, feedback, and resolution steps for root cause analysis and process improvement initiatives.
  • Mentor junior team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Update operational and maintenance documentation for 24/7/365 enterprise monitoring personnel.
  • Support operations across various geographic locations and network classifications.
  • Work with Operations, Engineering, and vendor support to devise solutions for complex technical challenges.
  • Operate independently as part of a virtual team.

Essential Qualifications

  • Proficiency in PowerShell commands and scripting/automation.

Experience or functional knowledge with Identity Management technologies, including:

  • Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM)
  • Forefront Identity Manager (FIM)
  • Azure Active Directory Connect (AADC)
  • Active Directory Federation Service (ADFS)
  • ADFS Web Application Proxy (WAP)
  • Quest Active Roles Server (ARS)
  • LDAP Border Directory Systems
  • Active Directory Lightweight Directory Services
  • Radiant Logic
  • VDS
  • OAUTH/SAML
  • Secure Token Authentication Services/PKI Integration

Additional Experience:

  • Experience with Quest ARS PowerShell extensions and automating ARS tasks.
  • Experience in Tier 2/Tier 3 system administration.
  • Experience in customer interaction during troubleshooting incidents and system anomalies.
  • Experience in troubleshooting within a dynamic environment.
  • Experience with log reviews, incident analysis, and identifying issue trends.
  • Experience with server patch management methodologies.
  • Experience mentoring and training junior personnel.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively within a virtual team and support peers towards improved processes and outcomes.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Familiarity with support ticket management systems.

Education and Training

  • Must meet DoD IAT Level II certification requirements (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, GICSP, GSEC, or SSCP along with an appropriate computing environment certification).
  • A Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of relevant experience, a Master's Degree with 6 years of relevant experience, an Associate's Degree with 10 years of relevant experience, or 12 years of relevant experience in lieu of education is required.

Clearance Requirements

  • TS/SCI with specific polygraph required or TS/SCI with willingness to obtain and maintain a specific polygraph.
  • U.S. citizenship is mandatory due to the nature of the government contracts supported.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of integrating Exchange and Active Directory.
  • ITIL Foundations Certification.
  • Microsoft or other commercial Identity Management certifications (e.g., Identity and Access Administrator Associate, Azure Administrator Associate, Quest Active Roles Administration, or Quest Active Roles Implementation and Configuration).
