We are currently seeking dedicated Full Time, Part Time, and PRN Cooks to be part of our culinary team. Our operations support a critical access hospital, contributing to the well-being of our community.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious and appealing meals for residents, following established recipes and adhering to all relevant standards and guidelines for food safety and preparation.

Essential Duties:
  • Prepare meals according to planned menus.
  • Serve food while adhering to portion control guidelines.
  • Follow standardized recipes and accommodate special requests.
  • Ensure food is cooked at the appropriate temperatures and maintain necessary logs.
  • Assist with inventory management and vendor deliveries.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef and other kitchen staff to coordinate menus and special requests.
  • Adapt work schedules to meet emergency needs.
  • Follow safe food handling practices and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen.
  • Support daily cleaning duties as per established protocols.

Qualifications:

Physical Requirements:
  • Continuous standing and walking throughout the shift.
  • Ability to reach, bend, lift, and manipulate various food products and equipment.
  • Visual acuity for assessing food quality.
  • Ability to work with cleaning agents and chemicals safely.
  • Exposure to varying temperatures in kitchen environments.
  • Must be able to lift and carry weights between fifty to seventy-five pounds.
Work Schedule:

This is an hourly position with a flexible schedule that may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least one year of experience in food preparation and service.
  • ServSafe certification is required or must be obtained within three months of employment.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations.
  • Demonstrated integrity and professionalism.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while working collaboratively.
