The Radiologic Imaging Specialist performs a comprehensive range of radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures, generating the necessary images for diagnosis as requested by licensed practitioners. This role applies the art and skill of diagnostic imaging in direct patient care, ensuring the safe and effective application of radiographic practices.

**Key Responsibilities**

- Administers medications through various routes as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.

- Utilizes infusion pumps or power injectors for medication administration as directed.

- Implements ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure to patients, self, and others.

- Ensures patient safety is prioritized throughout all patient care activities.

- Assists in maintaining accurate medical records while respecting confidentiality and established policies.

- Collaborates with patients to confirm clinical histories related to procedures, ensuring documentation is available for licensed practitioners.

- Educates and supervises students and other healthcare professionals.

- Evaluates images for proper positioning and technical quality, determining if additional images are necessary for improved outcomes.

- Identifies and responds to emergency situations effectively.

- Performs quality assurance activities consistently.

- Prepares patients for procedures and provides necessary education.

- Maintains confidentiality of patient health information in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.

- Participates in departmental quality assessment and improvement initiatives.

- Restocks supplies and maintains cleanliness in the work area.

**Required Skills**

- Proficiency in C-Arm and fluoroscopic procedures.

- Experience with pediatric and trauma radiographic examinations.

- Ability to recognize and respond to changes in patient conditions.

- Strong critical thinking and professional communication skills.
