About the Role

Mercy Health is seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer radionuclide therapy and prepare, perform QC, and dispense radiopharmaceuticals for off-hour procedures.
  • Perform urgent Nuclear Medicine procedures in an on-call status or in a single technologist staffing model.
  • Check the order for complete information and proper exam and schedule exams as needed.
  • Obtain sufficient information to determine whether the exam should be performed immediately or within a specific time frame.
  • Determine if additional technical support is required and follow the proper procedure for obtaining support.
  • Adhere to established section and organizational protocols, QA guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Interact appropriately with patients and all care providers.
Imaging Procedures
  • Coordinate the imaging room to coincide with the examination being performed, including the use of proper isolation precautions when needed.
  • Review images to determine if they are of diagnostic quality and adjust factors if an image needs to be repeated.
  • Start and maintain intravenous (IV) access as prescribed by a licensed independent practitioner.
  • Identify, prepare, and/or administer medications as prescribed by a licensed independent practitioner.
  • Procure, prepare quality control, calculate, identify, document, administer, dispose, store, and safely handle radiopharmaceuticals and other radioactive materials.
