Mercy Health is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team. As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Administer medications parenterally through new or existing vascular access, enterally or through other appropriate routes as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
- Administer medications with an infusion pump or power injector as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
- Apply principles of ALARA to minimize exposure to patient, self and others.
- Apply principles of patient safety during all aspects of patient care.
- Assist in maintaining medical records, respecting confidentiality and established policy.
- Corroborate with patient's clinical history with procedure and ensure information is documented and available for use by a licensed practitioner.
- Educate and monitor students and other health care providers.
- Evaluate images for proper positioning and determines if additional images will improve the procedure or treatment outcome.
- Evaluate images for technical quality and ensuring proper identification is recorded.
- Identify and responding to emergency situations.
- Identify, prepares and/or administers medications as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
- Perform ongoing quality assurance activities.
- Perform venipuncture as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
- Postprocesses data.
- Prepare patients for procedures.
- Provide education.
- Provide optimal patient care.
- Receive, relays and documents verbal, written and electronic orders in the patient's medical record.
- Select the appropriate protocol and optimizes technical factors while maximizing patient safety.
- Starts, maintains and/or removes intravenous access as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
- Verify archival storage of data.
- Verify informed consent for applicable procedures.
- Assist the licensed practitioner with fluoroscopic and specialized radiologic procedures.
- Perform diagnostic radiographic and noninterpretive fluoroscopic procedures as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
- Maintain confidentiality of the patients health information in accordance with the health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.
- Participate in the department's quality assessment and improvement plan.
- Assist with duplication of patients records for requesting entities.
- Transport patients as necessary.
- Obtain additional patient records as needed.
- Maintain continuing education hours as required by the ARRT.
- Restock rooms and maintains cleanliness of work area.
- Takes call as required.
