Job Summary:
The Forklift Operator is a critical role within our warehouse operations, responsible for safely operating powered material handling equipment to facilitate product receipt, storage, and order fulfillment. This position requires a strong focus on product safety, quality, and legality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate basic powered material handling equipment, including electric pallet jacks and forklifts, to move products throughout the warehouse.
- Perform full case order picking for replenishment, customer orders, and packaging components.
- Retrieve and store pallets in narrow aisle bulk rack storage systems.
- Conduct quality control checks to ensure accuracy of all transactions.
- Load and unload pallets and cases from trucks and conveyor lines, using hand or equipment.
- Sort and build product to pallets to meet customer expectations.
- Apply shrink wrap to pallets using machinery.
- Perform pre- and post-equipment checks to ensure safe operation.
- Maintain accurate storage locations through daily cycle counts and routine inventory maintenance tasks.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to operate powered material handling equipment, such as electric pallet jacks and forklifts.
- Meet all personal protective equipment (PPE) and fall protection requirements.
- Ability to work at extended heights.
- Strong sense of urgency, attention to detail, and flexibility in meeting deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Customer service-driven.
- Strong team player.
Physical and Cognitive Requirements:
- Ability to follow policies and procedures.
- Ability to read, write, and interpret information.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
- Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
- Ability to sit, walk, or stand for up to 10 hours per day.
- Ability to intermittently crawl, squat, climb, twist, bend, stoop, push, or pull.
- Must possess visual acuity, including close, distance, and color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to lift or carry items less than 60 pounds.
