About the Role

Vinfen is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Peer Specialist to join our team. As a Peer Specialist, you will play a vital role in promoting the engagement, hope, and full integration of adults with psychiatric rehabilitation services needed to live successfully in the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement Peer Support-oriented Treatment Plan interventions with individuals served.
  • Provide support, education, and advocacy, especially during times of service and life transitions.
  • Engage individuals in non-directive and supportive relationships that promote empowerment and self-learning.
  • Facilitate Peer Support groups as needed.

Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent required; a bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience as a recipient of services for people with psychiatric conditions preferred.
  • Must be well along in own personal recovery (self-knowledge and habits needed to support one's own health).
  • Must either obtain or meet one of the following criteria within six months of hire:
  • Certified Peer Specialist.
  • Has received Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery Coach Academy or equivalent training.
  • Meet Family Partner as required by Community Service Agencies specifications.
