In this dynamic position, you will:
- Be instrumental in managing and enhancing our Linux High-Performance Computing (HPC) Cluster, which is vital for engineering simulations.
- Utilize your troubleshooting expertise to assist customers across various sectors using Ansys software.
Your Key Responsibilities Include:
- HPC Cluster Management (40-50% of role):
- Oversee a Linux-based cluster computing environment, including two large HPC clusters.
- Develop a new 500+ core Linux HPC cluster.
- Maintain a custom HPC job status website.
- Generate reports on HPC cluster usage.
- Support engineers utilizing HPC clusters with Ansys software.
- Ansys Support (40% of role):
- Deliver high-quality technical support to external clients.
- Troubleshoot Ansys-related issues and collaborate with Ansys support as necessary.
- Create Knowledge Base articles for client reference.
- IT Help Desk Support (10% of role):
- Assist internal users with common hardware and software issues in Windows and M365 environments.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- At least 5 years of relevant IT experience or equivalent education/certifications.
- Proficient in configuring and maintaining Linux operating systems (e.g., Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS).
- Strong troubleshooting skills for Linux software, hardware, and network issues.
- Experience with Windows Server Administration.
- Familiarity with Bash scripting and web technologies (CGI, HTML, PHP).
Preferred Experience:
- Knowledge of InfiniBand and RoCE Networking.
- Experience with HPC job schedulers like OpenPBS or Slurm.
- Industry certifications.
- Experience in benchmarking and tuning computer hardware.
