Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our team at Plug Power. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our cloud-based infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Azure Identities and Governance
  • Manage Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) objects, including creating users and groups, administrative units, user and group properties, device settings, bulk user updates, guest accounts, Azure AD Join, and self-service password reset
  • Manage role-based access control (RBAC), including creating custom roles, providing access to Azure resources by assigning roles at different scopes, and interpreting access assignments
  • Manage subscriptions and governance, including configuring Azure policies, resource locks, tags on resources, resource groups, subscriptions, costs, management groups, and Azure DNS
  • Implement and manage storage, including configuring network access to storage accounts, creating and configuring storage accounts, generating shared access signature (SAS) tokens, managing access keys, Azure AD Authentication for a storage account, and access to Azure Files
  • Configure Azure files and Azure blob storage, including creating an Azure file share, Azure File Sync service, Azure Blob Storage, storage tiers, and blob lifecycle management
  • Deploy and manage Azure Compute Resources, including automating deployment of virtual machines (VMs) by using Azure Resource Manager Templates, modifying an Azure Resource Manager template, configuring a virtual hard disk (VHD) template, deploying from a template, saving a deployment as an Azure Resource Manager template, and deploying virtual machine extensions
  • Configure VMs, including configuring Azure Disk Encryption, moving VMs from one resource group to another, managing VM sizes, adding data disks, configuring networking, redeploying VMs, configuring high availability, and deploying and configuring virtual machine scale sets
  • Create and configure containers, including configuring sizing and scaling for Azure Container Instances, configuring container groups for Azure Container Instances, configuring storage for Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), configuring scaling for AKS, configuring network connections for AKS, and upgrading an AKS cluster
  • Create and configure Azure App Service, including creating an App Service plan, configuring scaling settings in an App Service plan, creating an App Service, securing an App Service, configuring custom domain names, configuring backup for an App Service, configuring networking settings, and configuring deployment settings
  • Configure and manage virtual networking, including creating and configuring virtual networks, peering, private and public IP addresses, user-defined network routes, subnets, endpoints on subnets, private endpoints, Azure DNS, custom DNS settings, and private or public DNS zones
  • Secure access to virtual networks, including creating security rules, associating a Network Security Group(NSG) to a subnet or network interface, evaluating effective security rules, implementing Azure Firewall, and implementing Azure Bastion
  • Configure load balancing and perform/equipment and software maintenance as scheduled, communicate with outside vendors in support of various system platforms, document flows, processes, procedures, resolutions, and actions for knowledge sharing and Service Desk Staff enablement, and assist in determining the IT needs of the company to support operations

Requirements

  • Certifications and/or extensive experience in Azure or cloud platforms, Linux, and Windows Environments
  • A minimum of 10 years' IT professional experience required
  • A minimum of 5 dedicated to Cloud Infrastructure Builds and Administration
  • Strong critical thinking/problem solving skills required, as well as Project Management skills and the ability to prioritize with and without direct input
  • Strong customer service and mentoring attitude
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft-based solutions including Active Directory and O365
  • Ability to support Microsoft Server products, including Active Directory, Group Policy, Azure DNS/DHCP, and file/print services
  • An extensive knowledge of computer hardware and operating systems common to a business environment
  • Extensive experience with the Microsoft Server operating system (2012 R2 and newer) in a physical and virtual environment
  • Experience with hosted/cloud-based systems based on MS Azure
  • Ability to create and maintain diagrammatic representations of network configurations using Visio
  • Ability to work independently, be resourceful, and communicate effectively in a decentralized environment
  • Ability/willingness to travel up to 10%
