Children's Respite Care Center Inc is a respected non-profit organization focused on delivering comprehensive services to children of all abilities, empowering them to achieve their fullest potential. We pride ourselves on maintaining a dynamic and collaborative work atmosphere, serving children and young adults from 6 weeks to 21 years of age.
Key Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will provide vital leadership support and cover the roles of Site Director and Assistant Site Director during their time off. Responsibilities include overseeing daily operations, staff management, scheduling, parent communications, and ensuring compliance with state regulations and emergency protocols.
Staff Management and Oversight:
- Exemplifies the expected behaviors and attitudes that align with our core values, fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Assists in managing staff absences and coordinates staffing schedules accordingly.
- Adjusts staffing based on client attendance and needs.
- Ensures compliance with staff meal breaks and maintains excellent client care ratios.
- Consistently applies and promotes organizational policies and procedures, including state regulations and accreditation standards.
Professional Duties:
- Demonstrates understanding, patience, and adaptability when interacting with children, parents, and team members.
- Communicates respectfully with all stakeholders, including parents, guardians, and staff.
- Supports the mission of Children's Respite Care Center Inc and contributes to positive community relations.
- Collaborates with the Site Director and/or Director of Education on family communications.
- Participates actively in training and professional development opportunities.
- Maintains confidentiality regarding staff and client information.
- Accepts additional responsibilities as assigned and adheres to the established work schedule.
- Demonstrates a commitment to providing exceptional client care and serves as a role model for staff regarding policies and procedures.
- Shares knowledge and expertise with colleagues to enhance the educational programs.
- Remains alert and responsive to spontaneous learning opportunities for clients and staff.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Education or a related field is required; a bachelor's degree is preferred, along with proven leadership experience in a licensed childcare setting.
- Experience in managing or leading a diverse team is strongly preferred.
- Must complete required continuing education hours annually.
- Possesses the ability to maintain valid CPR and First Aid certifications.
- Ability to perform physical tasks required for the role, including lifting and maintaining visual contact with children.
- Must meet the agency's employment conditions regarding health status and background checks.
