POSITION SUMMARY:
Join our team as a Cyber Security Operations Specialist, where you will play a crucial role in safeguarding our digital infrastructure. This position involves active participation in monitoring, analyzing, and responding to cyber threats as part of a dedicated operations team. You will be engaged in incident management, network security analysis, and the implementation of security protocols to ensure the integrity of our systems.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate with the operations team to address Cyber Defense and Network Security challenges, providing insights on potential threats and vulnerabilities. Oversee the management of information security services, ensuring that all documentation and reporting tools are up to date and effectively utilized. Analyze reports from various cyber entities and prepare comprehensive briefings to communicate the current security landscape to stakeholders. Document and report on responses to cyber incidents, including malware and other security breaches. Stay informed about relevant directives and alerts, and prepare regular updates for leadership regarding the security posture of our networks. Manage network defense operations, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with internal teams and partners to mitigate cyber threats. Assess technical information for accuracy and relevance, providing actionable recommendations to enhance security measures. Ensure compliance with incident reporting procedures as outlined by relevant security regulations and guidelines. Act as a Subject Matter Expert in Cybersecurity during operational hours, making informed decisions that impact network security.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance is required. DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 certification (Security+ CE or equivalent) is necessary, with a commitment to obtain CSSP-A certification within a specified timeframe. Experience in Cyber Network Defense within a Computer Incident Response environment, demonstrating a solid understanding of cybersecurity principles. Knowledge of network threat life cycles, attack methodologies, and defense strategies is essential. Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively to devise solutions for complex security challenges. Experience in a continuous operations environment, including mentoring and guiding junior team members. Capability to recognize indicators of potential security incidents and assess their impact on operations.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous experience in Military IT or Intelligence Community roles. Practical experience with Department of Defense networks. Willingness to work various shifts as required. Strong multitasking abilities and composure under pressure. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex technical information clearly. In-depth understanding of cybersecurity threats and tactics used by adversaries.-
