POSITION OVERVIEW:

As a Cyber Security Operations Officer (CSOO), you will play a critical role in safeguarding our digital infrastructure. This position involves active participation in the monitoring and management of cyber threats, incident response, and network security analysis. The CSOO will be integral to the operations team, focusing on threat detection, event triage, and the dissemination of vulnerability information.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Collaborate with the operations team to address all Cyber Defense and Network Security matters, providing insights on Indicators of Compromise (IOC) and overall network security posture. Oversee the technical aspects of information security services, ensuring effective customer support and updating essential knowledge management tools. Analyze and interpret operational reports from various cyber organizations, delivering situational awareness briefings and updates to stakeholders. Document and report on incident management responses to cyber intrusions and malware incidents. Stay informed about relevant directives and alerts, preparing and presenting daily operational briefings to leadership. Manage network defense operations, ensuring effective collaboration with internal teams and partners to address ongoing cyber threats. Evaluate technical information to identify issues, using sound judgment to propose actionable recommendations for senior leadership. Ensure compliance with incident handling procedures as per established guidelines and regulations. Act as a Senior Cybersecurity Subject Matter Expert during operational hours, making critical decisions that impact network security.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance is mandatory. DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 certification (Security+ CE or equivalent) is required, with CSSP-A certification to be obtained within a specified timeframe. Experience in Computer Incident Response, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices. Familiarity with the lifecycle of network threats and attack methodologies, including intelligence-driven defense strategies. Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively to resolve complex technical challenges. Experience in a continuous operations environment, including mentoring and guiding junior team members. Proven ability to recognize situational awareness indicators and assess their potential impact on operations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Previous experience in Military IT or Intelligence Community roles. Hands-on experience with Department of Defense networks. Willingness to work flexible hours, including swing shifts. Ability to perform effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex technical information clearly. In-depth understanding of cybersecurity threats and attack vectors, including tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).
