Position Overview

Leidos is seeking a Cyber Operations Specialist to join our team, focusing on the support of critical cyber defense initiatives. This role is integral to our operations, providing strategic oversight and engagement with various stakeholders to ensure the security and integrity of our cyber environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and assess cyber threats by analyzing reports from the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, and open-source intelligence to identify potential vulnerabilities and malware that could affect our networks.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the planning, coordination, execution, validation, and compliance of cybersecurity initiatives.
  • Develop and deliver high-level presentations to communicate findings and updates to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to system functionality and performance.
  • Prepare and manage staffing orders, serving as the main contact for inquiries and compliance following order issuance.
  • Support essential Continuity of Operations (COOP) efforts to maintain mission readiness.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree coupled with 8 years of relevant professional experience; additional years of experience may substitute for formal education.
  • Possession of a DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (such as Security+ CE or equivalent) is required, with the ability to obtain CSSP-A certification within a specified timeframe.
  • Strong understanding of Cyber Network Defense (CND) principles, including protection, detection, response, and sustainability within a Computer Incident Response framework.
  • Familiarity with TCP/IP, common networking protocols, traffic management, system administration, and the OSI model.
  • A proactive self-starter with proven leadership capabilities and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • An active Top Secret/SCI clearance is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with DISA and Department of Defense networks.
  • Proven track record of briefing high-level executives and military leadership.
  • Experience in managing Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms), including task identification, resource allocation, and milestone tracking.
  • Knowledge of IT security processes, including vulnerability management, incident management, and threat management.
  • Advanced understanding of networking principles and security measures.
  • Relevant advanced certifications such as SANS GIAC/GCIA/GCIH, CISSP, or CASP.
  • Familiarity with intelligence-driven defense strategies and the Cyber Kill Chain methodology.
