Job Summary

Security Benefit is seeking a STAT Accounting Intern to join the Finance Team. This role offers hands-on experience in statutory accounting, where you will assist with financial reporting, compliance, and regulatory filings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing statutory financial statements and reports.
  • Support the reconciliation of accounts and ensure accurate financial data.
  • Participate in the preparation of regulatory filings.
  • Analyze and compile financial data for audits.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Maintain and organize financial records.

Eligibility

Students eligible for the internship will be current, full-time students available to work at least 19 hours a week. Student will be expected to work during and in between semesters and up to full-time during the summer.

Qualifications

  • Full-time student in accounting and/or finance with at least a 3.5 GPA in majors.
  • Willingness to develop industry-related knowledge.
  • Proficient with MS Excel and Word.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to think objectively and analytically.
  • Ability to work with various levels of management.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
