Job Summary

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to serve as the Manager of Museum Community Engagement and Outreach. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing programs that engage diverse audiences, including the campus community, residents of Las Vegas, K-12 students, and the general public.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director to plan, execute, and oversee a diverse range of programs aimed at engaging a wide audience.
  • Manage various programs such as research opportunities, workshops, lectures, events, student initiatives, and other museum activities.
  • Ensure that all programs align closely with the Museum's mission and values.
  • Oversee facility rentals, organize K-12 programming and field trips, and work with the Museum editor to create engaging content for diverse audiences.
  • Conduct museum tours, train staff, volunteers, and interns to ensure a high-quality visitor experience, and represent the Museum in various off-campus initiatives.
  • Assist the Executive Director in volunteer/intern training, maintain the museum's daily operations, contribute to collections care, art handling, installation, curation, and event planning.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • 1-3 years programming/events experience within a museum, gallery, or other arts institution.
  • Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment.
  • Demonstrate support for diversity, equity, and inclusiveness, and participate in maintaining a respectful, positive work environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of experience working directly with artists, curators, researchers, galleries, K-12 teachers, and students.
  • 1 – 3 years of experience working within a college campus.
