Key Responsibilities:

The Accounting Analyst is essential for maintaining the financial stability of the organization. This role involves scrutinizing financial data, generating comprehensive reports, and providing actionable insights to aid strategic decision-making. A solid grasp of accounting principles, meticulous attention to detail, and the capability to discern trends within financial data are crucial for precise financial reporting, budget oversight, and overall financial strategy, making this position vital within any finance team.

Analysis & Reporting - 60%
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly expense analyses of accounting transactions and create reports that effectively communicate variance explanations.
  • Develop and monitor Tableau Dashboard Reporting.
  • Prepare quarterly reports on key retail performance indicators.
  • Generate financial analysis charts, reports, and presentations.
  • Complete government report forms.
  • Oversee budget submissions.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis for management.
Accounting, Internal Controls, and Communication - 40%
  • Execute monthly and quarterly retail finance close procedures and report financial results, including reconciliation of retail balance sheet accounts.
  • Analyze balance sheet and expense accounts, preparing necessary journal entry adjustments.
  • Reconcile expected retail credit card settlements at the point of sale with actual settlements and deposits on a daily and monthly basis.
  • Collaborate with internal business partners to review actual spending against budget/forecasts and make necessary journal entry adjustments. Assist in reforecasting the budget based on actuals.
  • Maintain ownership of internal controls.
  • Update systems and databases in response to business changes.
  • Assist with internal and external audit requests.
  • Engage in significant internal communication with business partners to drive company initiatives and ensure the accuracy of financial statements.
Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 1-2 years of experience in Accounting.
  • Proficiency in Tableau, with experience in report creation and management, analytics, and dashboards.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a resourceful approach.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Advanced Excel skills focused on data analytics and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
