Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Retirement Plan Compliance Specialist to join our team at Charles Schwab. As a key member of our Retirement Plan Services group, you will be responsible for providing ERISA compliance testing and reporting services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and perform ADP/ACP testing, Top Heavy testing, Coverage testing, 401(a)(4) Nondiscrimination testing, Form 5500 and Form 8955-SSA within statutory timelines.
  • Lead complex ERISA compliance testing issues and serve as a primary liaison with ERISA Consulting, external clients, and Relationship Managers.
  • Assist clients with preparation of allocations of employer contributions and specialized testing.
  • Partner with Relationship Management and other teams to resolve higher-level client issues and external auditor requests.
  • Serve as a direct contact with plan sponsors and their external auditors to add value and retain clients.
  • Develop and implement training programs and procedures to improve team performance.
  • Provide guidance and support to less experienced staff and complete peer review of assigned work.
Requirements
  • 4-7 years of experience in the qualified retirement plan industry, with significant direct experience in ERISA compliance testing and reporting services.
  • Thorough knowledge of IRS & DOL Code and Regulations, and experience with complex non-discrimination testing.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, and high comfort level with Microsoft Excel.
  • Project leadership experience.
