Financial Operations Director

Key Responsibilities- Direct and administer the general ledger, fixed asset, payroll, and accounts payable functions.
- Interact effectively with all IMH Accounting Department personnel.
- Provide direction and support for IMH Accounting personnel.
- Select, train, develop, and evaluate payroll and accounts payable personnel, and initiate personnel actions in accordance with IMH Human Resources policies and procedures.
- Generate financial statements accurately and on a timely basis, with minimal year-end adjustments, and meet all health system financial reporting requirements.
- Manage financial audits.
- Remain informed regarding anticipated capital additions during the fiscal year based on actual and anticipated asset capitalization to ensure compliance with established guidelines.
- Participate in the capital and operating budget process.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent required.
- Master's degree, equivalent, or CPA preferred.
- At least three (3) years' experience in a controller position in a hospital setting preferred.
- Working knowledge of Patient Financial Services, Materials Management, and Medicare cost reporting.
- Experience with Lawson systems preferred.
- CPA preferred.
- Ability to plan and implement hospital accounting systems for rural hospitals is preferred.
- Working knowledge of business law, payer contracting, and information systems preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, primarily Excel.
- Excellent customer service skills, including a friendly personality, tact, patience, empathy, and a helpful, professional attitude both in person and on the telephone.
- Ability to effectively communicate with staff, managers, and the general public verbally and in writing.
- Effective listening skills.
- Excellent organization and time management skills and ability to establish priorities effectively.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively without immediate supervision.
- Ability to learn new computer software programs.
- Ability to recognize and protect confidential information.
- Ethical and legal accountability for the position.
