POSITION SUMMARY
The Flight Training Supervisor plays a pivotal role in overseeing Part 141 ground and flight instructors. This position is responsible for conducting evaluations, final assessments, and delivering instructional content in compliance with FAA regulations, the Airmen's Information Manual, advisory circulars, airport operations, and the policies and procedures of Republic Airways.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducts facility tours and educates clients on Republic Airways' policies, procedures, and flight training programs.
  • Executes flight instructor and check instructor responsibilities as authorized by Federal Aviation Regulations and designated by the chief flight instructor, adhering to the approved Training Course Outline.
  • Monitors student progress and diligently maintains and updates all relevant records.
  • Reviews student records, manages enrollments, and oversees graduations as assigned by the chief flight instructor.
  • Ensures that all assigned students meet course standards, training requirements, and objectives as outlined in the Training Course Outline.
  • Oversees the maintenance status of training aircraft and communicates any concerns to maintenance personnel.
  • Proposes and develops enhancements to curriculum and course materials when necessary.
  • Participates in administrative, standardization, in-service training, and instructor development meetings as required.
  • Leads a team of flight instructors.
  • Conducts screening, interviews, and provides recommendations for potential hires. Offers coaching, leadership, direction, motivation, and supervision to direct reports. Evaluates performance, provides feedback, implements corrective actions, and oversees staff training and development.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
The qualifications listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform this role effectively.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
  • Advanced training beyond high school in FAA and/or Airline Transport Pilot certification.
    • FAA Certified Flight Instructor, Airplane Single Engine Land; Airplane Multi-Engine Land; Instrument.
    • A minimum of 1 year of experience as a flight instructor, with at least 500 flight hours.
  • Must possess a current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
    • Must fulfill the minimum requirements for an ATP or RATP certificate.
    • Meet the current age and flight hour requirements set by the FAA and Republic Airways.
    • Must have comprehensive knowledge of all authorized curriculums.
  • Proficient in applying effective instructional techniques in both classroom and flight settings.
    • Ability to teach and perform effectively in a classroom environment. Computer proficiency is required.
  • Strong piloting skills, including familiarity with and ability to execute required flight maneuvers and procedures.
  • Knowledge of relevant Federal Aviation Regulations and associated administrative and operational procedures.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with G1000 systems is preferred.
  • Experience in a 141 training environment is preferred.
  • Check instructor experience is preferred.
REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS
  • Must successfully pass an initial and ongoing drug and alcohol testing program.
  • Must pass a Federal Background check.
LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

PROBLEM-SOLVING ABILITY
Ability to resolve practical issues and manage a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization. Ability to interpret various instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

DECISION-MAKING
Makes daily decisions that support strategic objectives. Decisions often require careful consideration and are somewhat structured. These decisions tend to be short-term and usually involve moderate costs.

  • Able to stand for at least 70% of the time.
  • Able to lift or move up to 25 pounds up to 35% of the time.

  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short notice.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced and noisy environment while exercising sound judgment at all times.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time, including overnight and weekend travel.
