Job Overview
Full Time/Three 12-hour shifts. Responsible for the care, transport, and treatment of patients experiencing medical emergencies or requiring non-emergency assistance.
Key Responsibilities
- Relay and receive critical information regarding patient status and condition.
- Adhere to all regulatory requirements, departmental policies, safety protocols, and operational guidelines as outlined by state regulations.
- Demonstrate the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively manage patients across all age groups, including neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations.
Additional Duties
- Operate an ambulance to transport patients to and from healthcare facilities.
- Obtain necessary consents and authorizations from patients or their legal representatives.
- Maintain accurate records of ambulance runs, including time documentation.
- Process billing and daily reports as required.
- Provide medical treatment to patients during air transport.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
- Valid Indiana Paramedic license is required.
- Ability to secure surrounding state licensure within a specified timeframe.
- Certified Flight Paramedic advanced certification must be achieved within a designated period.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required upon hire.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is required upon hire.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or equivalent must be obtained during the initial probationary period.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) or equivalent must be obtained during the initial probationary period.
- Trauma Certification, including ITLS or PHTLS, must be obtained within a specified timeframe.
- Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) or equivalent must be completed during the initial probationary period.
- NIMS certifications (100, 200, 700, 800) must be obtained within the initial probationary period.
- Valid Driver's License in the State of Indiana with a clean driving record.
Experience
- A minimum of 3 years of Advanced Life Support (ALS) Paramedic experience is essential.
- Demonstrated ability to make independent, clinically sound decisions in high-pressure environments.
