Position Overview:

The role involves supporting the Superintendent in all on-site activities for a designated project. This includes overseeing the physical arrangement of work and collaborating with the Superintendent to ensure adherence to contract specifications by the company and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities:

Management Responsibilities:
  • Participate in site layout, cost estimation, construction planning, scheduling, material procurement, quality assurance, and job site safety.
  • Aid in the formulation, execution, and enforcement of project-specific quality control protocols.
  • Assist in the preparation and upkeep of four-week look-ahead schedules.
  • Help document all actions related to potential claims or legal matters.
  • Supervise laborer duties and collaborate with foremen to ensure structures comply with contract specifications.
  • Attend and record weekly Foreman meetings.
  • Support the timely completion of all punch lists and work completion documentation.
Interpersonal Skills:
  • Foster and maintain positive and effective working relationships with all stakeholders (clients, inspectors, architects, subcontractors, project teams, and all departments).

  • Assist the Superintendent with the initial development and maintenance of schedules.
  • Support the creation, maintenance, and enforcement of project site safety initiatives.

  • Assist in the implementation of SWPPP measures and documentation.
  • Help maintain a complete and accurate set of working documents related to the project.
  • Assist in the preparation of daily reports concerning work crews, project progress, and issues.
  • Aid in coordinating all field inspections, mock-ups, and testing.
  • Execute various basic field tasks related to general construction.
  • Conduct quantity tracking and cost coding for productivity analysis and accurate job cost forecasting.
  • Possess knowledge of all documents associated with the project.
Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:
  • A four-year degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent experience in a related field, or 1-3 years of project field experience.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Basic familiarity with Viewpoint, P6, Prolog, or other CMS applications.
  • Understanding of construction administration processes, including construction documents, schedules, RFIs, submittals, and material procurement.
  • Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:

The execution of the required duties necessitates the physical ability to ascend permanent and temporary stairs, utilize construction personnel hoists, climb ladders, and navigate construction areas. Performing this role requires the use of hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, as well as the ability to sit, talk, hear, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Work Environment:

While fulfilling the duties of this position, the employee regularly works on-site at construction locations, where they may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, and electrical hazards.
