Burger Construction is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee and supervise projects from start to finish. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality of work and materials, adhering to the budget, and supervising all operations on the site.
Key Responsibilities:- Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and project managers on all aspects of the project.
- Maintain positive relationships with clients and ensure professionalism, courtesy, and attentiveness to their needs.
- Thoroughly review and understand plans, submittals, RFI's, and field conditions.
- Ensure project plans are implemented and oversee the construction process.
- Perform superintendent duties at multiple job sites and commute as required.
- Proactively perform layout for the job and verify field conditions to identify and avoid conflicts.
- Organize workers and ensure they are performing as required.
- Conduct general inspections of workers and their performance and safety.
- Hold weekly jobsite safety meetings with subcontractors and staff on site.
- Review daily jobsite conditions for safety and ensure stipulated safety rules and regulations are met by subcontractors and on-site staff.
- Liaise with city inspectors on standard requirements of the site in terms of licenses and safety.
- Supervise and schedule subcontractors, consultants, and vendors in critical path to ensure timely completion.
- Provide electronic 2-week schedules weekly to the project team.
- Schedule work in a way that allows subcontractors to be efficient and profitable.
- Ensure quality is preserved in the construction process and the budget is maintained.
- Document project progress.
- Ability to supervise and schedule multiple jobs at one time.
- Ability to communicate effectively and knowledge of building and construction processes.
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to work nights and weekends when required.
- Proficiency in Procore, BlueBeam, Microsoft Excel, and Word.
- Minimum High School Diploma; College or University degree in a construction-related field is an asset.
- A minimum 5 years' experience in Commercial Tenant Improvement Construction.
- Ability to lift 50lbs and maneuver through a jobsite.
- Must have own tools and be proficient with them.
- Required to have an up-to-date CPR/First Aid certificate, OSHA 10 certificate at a minimum/OSHA 30 preferred, and a valid Driver's License.
