POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Loss Prevention Associate plays a crucial role in maintaining a secure shopping environment. This position involves a visible presence at store entrances and throughout the sales floor, actively deterring theft and ensuring safety for both customers and staff. The Associate engages with customers in a friendly manner, reinforcing a positive atmosphere while monitoring for potential theft risks.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensuring a Safe Environment:
  • Prioritizes safety in all actions and assists in maintaining a secure environment for customers and associates.
  • Provides a strong presence at store entrances and on the sales floor, monitoring for safety concerns.
  • Maintains clear emergency exits and a clutter-free environment.
Building Relationships:
  • Delivers excellent customer service through friendly greetings and engagement.
  • Treats all individuals with respect and professionalism.
  • Actively participates in team meetings and recognition programs.
  • Collaborates with internal and external partners to support loss prevention initiatives.
Brand Representation:
  • Embodies the company brand and maintains a professional appearance.
Preventing Theft:
  • Observes customer behavior to identify potential theft risks.
  • Communicates effectively with store leadership regarding theft indicators.
  • Follows company policies for responding to theft incidents.
Reducing Operational Loss:
  • Educates associates on effective practices to minimize loss.
  • Ensures compliance with checkout procedures.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School diploma or equivalent; AA degree preferred.
  • Experience in retail supervision or related training is preferred.
  • Knowledge of loss prevention practices is a plus.
  • Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Regular attendance and punctuality are essential.
  • Ability to stand and move throughout the store for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift objects over 25 lbs.
SUPERVISORY ROLE:

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
