Position Summary:

The Automotive Service Technician Trainee will work under the guidance of experienced technicians to assist in diagnosing and performing vehicle repairs and maintenance. This entry-level role is designed to enhance technical skills and knowledge, paving the way for advancement to a Service Technician position.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Support Master/Service Technicians in evaluating customer vehicles.
  • Help identify necessary repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Assist in estimating repair costs and performing vehicle services.
  • Document all services rendered accurately.
  • Utilize available technologies to improve customer satisfaction.
  • Learn to execute services efficiently in accordance with dealership standards.
  • Request necessary parts to assist Service Technicians.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development.
  • Record hours worked accurately in the timekeeping system.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and company policies.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of automotive systems and components.
  • Demonstrable mechanical aptitude and skills.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Willingness to engage in training programs.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Effective communication skills to interact with customers and team members.
  • Basic computer skills for timekeeping and inventory management.
  • Ability to follow instructions and comprehend technical manuals.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform various physical tasks.
