Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Associate to join our Catalysis Team at Braskem. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for the discovery and development of catalytic materials for renewable chemicals, contributing to sustainable development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safe Operation: Stay current on all safety training, participate in necessary safety audits, and effectively manage and maintain excellent laboratory housekeeping as well as standard operating procedures.
  • Catalyst Development: Synthesize, characterize, and evaluate catalysts to optimize their performance and efficiency.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Build, operate, and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Result Analysis: Analyze, interpret, and communicate results to team members to inform decision-making and drive innovation.
  • Team Collaboration: Work in a team environment to solve complex problems and drive project success.
Requirements
  • Safety Mindset: Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and a willingness to follow safety procedures and protocols.
  • Communication Skills: Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and communicate results.
  • Chemical Laboratory Experience: Have a minimum of 2 years of experience working in a chemistry laboratory environment.
  • Data Analysis: Be proficient in data analysis and have experience with computer software (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, etc.).
  • Continuous Learning: Be inquisitive, willing to learn, and grow in responsibilities to drive innovation and success.
Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience
  • Education: BS and/or MS in chemistry, chemical engineering, or related fields.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of wet lab experience. Experience in catalyst discovery and development, such as synthesis, characterization, or evaluation, is desired.
  • Lab Digitalization: Experience with lab digitalization is a plus.
  • Goal Zero Mindset: Demonstrate a commitment to safety and a willingness to follow safety procedures and protocols.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work with colleagues within a project team.
  • Communication: Strong writing and presentation skills.
