Team Insights

At Alaska Seeds of Change, we engage with young individuals aged 16-24, equipping them with the vocational and personal skills necessary for successful adulthood. Our organization empowers local youth, fostering self-sufficiency and community engagement through the cultivation and sale of fresh produce.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate initiatives aimed at the strategic growth and enhancement of the Seed's program, collaborating with management and staff to achieve project objectives and timelines.
  • Work alongside the Program Manager to identify, develop, and implement projects, including value-added products and grant initiatives.
  • Supervise the daily operations of youth participants and staff, ensuring compliance with schedules and productivity benchmarks.
  • Provide mentorship and regular one-on-one support to Shift Leads, equipping them with essential tools for their professional advancement.
  • Organize and lead educational excursions and workshops for youth participants and community members.
  • Train staff and youth participants to co-facilitate field trips and workshops.
  • Design curriculum and activities that align with program objectives and enhance vocational education.
  • Collaborate with community partners to offer diverse learning opportunities.
  • Support the personal and professional growth of the program's primary beneficiaries (youth participants/apprentices).
  • Assist staff, including the Program Coordinator, in participant coordination.
  • Coordinate and manage various agricultural systems alongside fellow staff.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of essential duties across different agricultural systems.
  • Assist in the daily operations of the greenhouse, ensuring a safe and productive environment.
  • Monitor, document, and report on information regarding agricultural systems, operations, productivity, and yield.
  • Collaborate with staff and apprentices in agricultural tasks such as trimming, harvesting, weighing, packaging, invoicing, and delivering produce for sale.

Additional Information

  • This position is based in Anchorage, Alaska.
  • Full-Time, Non-Exempt with a schedule of 40 hours or less per week.
  • Compensation ranges from $24.89 per hour, depending on experience.
  • Alaska Behavioral Health offers comprehensive benefits, including two healthcare options for employees and their dependents, a 401k plan with immediate vesting and up to 5% matching, 3% automatic contributions by the organization, and generous PTO policies.
  • This role is eligible for annual incentive opportunities up to 5% of your salary.
