Job Description

Job Title: Cross Cultural Competence Program Manager

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cross Cultural Competence Program Manager to join our team at the Alaska Humanities Forum. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Forum's portion of the Ilisautri Project, a partnership between the Northwest Arctic Borough School District and the Forum. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a project that supports educators in building resilient cultural identities and reflecting on how those identities show up in their assumptions about their students and communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Management: Cultivate strong relationships with program partners, participants, and Culture Bearers. Oversee the search for and onboarding of a new C3 course instructor, with partner input. Ensure program meets goals outlined in grant and draft performance reports.
  • Budget Management: Manage AKHF's portion of the Ilisautri program budget, including drafting budget narratives and amendments with support from Director of C3 Programs and VP of Programs.
  • Staff Management: Supervise and support part-time Kotzebue Coordinator (based in Kotzebue).
  • Development, Facilitation, and Continuous Improvement: Co-plan with program partners and facilitate gatherings for Ilisautri educator participants, both virtual and in-person. Ensure program events follow the Forum's preferred methodologies for gathering, such as The Art of Hosting, World Cafe, and other models of convening and dialogue.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Must have experience working in Alaska (but outside of Anchorage) and experience coordinating large in-person gatherings. Experience working in Northwest Arctic preferred.
  • Education: Must have a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Skills: Must be an experienced facilitator and conversation designer. Must have demonstrated experience successfully planning and managing a project that takes place in rural Alaska.

  • Work Environment: The C3 Program Manager role is an exempt, full-time position based at the Forum offices in Anchorage with a regular weekday work schedule of 40 hours per week. This position will involve some weekends & evenings.
