Graduate Assistant for Men's Volleyball

Role Summary:

The Graduate Assistant for Men's Volleyball will play a crucial role in supporting the operations and development of the men's volleyball program. This position requires a dedicated individual who is passionate about fostering athletic excellence and academic success among student-athletes.

Key Responsibilities:

Administrative Duties

  • Assist in the daily management of the volleyball program.
  • Support the overall coordination of all team activities and athlete management.
  • Collaborate with the admissions office to facilitate the recruitment process.
  • Organize and oversee recruiting visit schedules.
  • Manage and inventory all necessary equipment for the program.
  • Work closely with academic support services to monitor the academic progress of athletes.

Game Preparation

  • Prepare for game days, including film analysis and utilization of performance metrics.
  • Assist in gathering and analyzing statistics before, during, and after competitions.

Practice and Skill Development

  • Support individual workouts and skill instruction for athletes.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of offensive and defensive strategies.
  • Facilitate team-oriented drills that enhance game readiness.

Scouting and Film Analysis

  • Organize film exchanges with other teams.
  • Assist in creating detailed pregame scouting reports and analyzing game footage.
  • Streamline the technology used for film exchange and game preparation.

Travel Coordination

  • Assist in arranging team meals and itineraries for away competitions.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Admission into a graduate program at Cumberland University.

Compensation:

  • Full tuition waiver, on-campus housing, and meal plan provided.

Work Commitment:

  • Minimum of 20 hours per week required throughout the graduate program.
  • Flexibility in scheduling is essential.
