Sterile Processing Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of patient care by processing and sterilizing medical instruments and equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Decontaminate, clean, and sterilize medical instruments and equipment using approved disinfectants and techniques.
- Assemble, inspect, test, and wrap medical instruments and equipment to ensure they are ready for use.
- Fill requisitions for processed medical supplies and equipment, and issue them according to priority of need.
- Update equipment inventory by logging in and out equipment, and maintain accurate records.
- Perform biological testing on sterilizers, and maintain aseptic standards in the Sterile Processing department.
- Establish and maintain courteous and cooperative relations with patients, public, and other personnel.
- Examine sterilization dates on medical instruments and equipment, and replace items no longer sterile.
- Pull OR schedules, review, analyze, and determine preference sheets to be utilized for cases.
- Knowledge of surgical instrumentation, basic microbiology, and basic anatomy and physiology.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Ability to lift 60 pounds and move in excess of 200 pounds.
- Ability to tolerate prolonged standing.
- Central Service Certification and Medical Terminology preferred.
