Job Description

Role Overview

The Speech Pathologist - Clinical Specialist will provide high-level clinical expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of students with communication disorders in a school setting. This role will involve working collaboratively with teachers, education support staff, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized support plans for students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement evidence-based assessment and treatment plans for students with communication disorders.
  • Provide professional development and training to teachers and education support staff on communication strategies and techniques.
  • Collaborate with other professionals to develop and implement individualized support plans for students.
  • Conduct regular progress monitoring and evaluation of student outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community agencies and service providers to access resources and support for students.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in communication therapy and apply this knowledge to inform practice.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Speech Pathology or related field.
  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Experience working in a school setting or with children with communication disorders.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, education support staff, and other professionals.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based assessment and treatment approaches for communication disorders.
