You are an organized self-starter capable of managing multiple projects efficiently while upholding best practices for others to emulate. With a robust technical accounting background, you seek to enhance your experience and knowledge by engaging with a diverse clientele in the small business, startup, and non-profit sectors.

You proactively identify challenges and contribute wherever necessary to ensure that deadlines are met and clients are satisfied. You derive great satisfaction from assisting clients in organizing and comprehending their business operations while ensuring all deliverables are completed punctually and within budget.

The Position
We are in search of a Senior Accountant to become a part of our External Accounting team.

The Senior Accountant will report to the Controller and will be responsible for a variety of tasks for clients, including but not limited to:

  • Processing financial transactions
  • Managing and reviewing accounts payable and receivable
  • Overseeing payroll
  • Preparing financial statements and conducting variance analyses
  • Budgeting, forecasting, and reporting

This role offers a clear path for advancement and can serve as a launching pad to more senior positions, contingent upon technical knowledge, coachability, and client-facing customer service skills.

Responsibilities
- Oversee or assist with the monthly closing process
- Participate in special projects as needed
- Prepare month-end journal entries
- Review and reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts
- Prepare and review budgets and forecasts for various scenarios
- Generate required reports and financial statements
- Conduct various financial analyses and ratios for client discussions
- Understand and interpret regulations relevant to client accounting needs
- Assist in producing reports for client stakeholders
- Engage with client Points of Contact

Skills and Knowledge
- Strong organizational skills with a focus on meeting deadlines
- Ability to adapt and learn new software products and applications
- Capacity to work independently and manage time effectively across various duties
- Attention to detail
- Knowledge of financial accounting principles
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field
- 3-7 years of relevant experience preferred
- Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office applications
- Familiarity with QuickBooks Online and other accounting and payroll software

Compensation and Benefits
Starting salary at $60,000, negotiable based on experience.
