The Route Sales Associate plays a vital role in building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, ensuring their expectations are met and exceeded. This involves gathering customer information through regular interactions with key decision-makers and using that information to enhance customer product offerings and services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Meet sales targets and drive route growth, service agreement renewal, and customer retention to boost market center profitability.
  • Identify opportunities to expand business revenue by selling new products to existing customers and acquiring new accounts.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with customers, providing exceptional customer service through an account ownership mentality.
  • Focus on account retention and seek opportunities to improve the account by being the primary point of contact for customer issues and opportunities.
  • Ensure products are loaded and unloaded safely, and merchandise is delivered, stocked, and rotated correctly.
  • Operate company vehicles safely and courteously, following all road rules.
  • Verify daily vehicle maintenance and keep the interior clean, organized, and safely maintained.
  • Comply with all DOT requirements.
  • Install and maintain optimal inventory levels at customer locations, ensuring quality and working condition.
  • Accurately account for all monies and product daily, adhering to established guidelines.
  • Practice active listening and communicate effectively under challenging conditions through internal and external communication channels.
  • Communicate with GM, RSM, CSM, and CSA regarding customers and report on pending issues or competitor activity in customer locations.
Qualifications:
  • 1-2 years of experience in a role requiring heavy public interaction.
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain DOT certification to operate DOT-regulated vehicles.
  • Excellent communication skills with clients and operations staff.
  • Ability to respond quickly to changing demands.
  • Proficiency in selling products to customers.
  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Acceptable driving record in accordance with CMV policy and valid driver's license.
  • Client interaction, communication, organization/time management are critical to success.
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently.
