About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Aftermarket Sales Manager to join our team at Sumitomo Machinery Corp of America. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for driving sales growth and increasing market share in designated industries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve sales targets and increase market share
  • Manage project leads and mentor the sales force to ensure successful sales outcomes
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with major potential customers to drive sales growth
  • Train District Managers in repair and service knowledge to ensure effective sales support
  • Assist District Managers in each repair opportunity to ensure successful sales outcomes
  • Manage communication between field and factory to ensure seamless sales operations
  • Use the Decision Tree to route opportunities and make direct sales calls to target accounts
  • Joint sales calls with District Managers to drive sales growth and increase market share
  • On-site customer training individually and with District Managers to ensure effective sales support
  • On-site root cause solutions assistance to drive sales growth and increase market share
  • Sales Quota responsibility to ensure successful sales outcomes
  • Sales reports and forecasting to drive sales growth and increase market share
  • Sales call reports and Salesforce to ensure effective sales operations
  • Quotes for tear-down charges and simple repairs to drive sales growth and increase market share
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Extensive experience in Heavy and Material Handling industries
  • Considerable experience with Strategy Development, Budget Management, and Project Management
  • Proactive, outgoing, self-motivated and self-directed with a strong record of sales/market planning, client development, and follow through and overcoming barriers to sales
  • Strong written and oral communication skills required
  • Ability to adapt to audience and project competence and confidence when speaking to range of audiences and groups
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency in strategic selling disciplines
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to perform a considerable amount of travel (50-75%)
  • Field service experience is desirable
  • Membership in multiple local industry organizations is desirable
