Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Staff Pharmacist to prepare medications, provide pharmacological information to healthcare teams, and monitor patient drug therapies. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of medication dispensing.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation and Dispensing of Medications: Prepare and assist the pharmacy team in preparing medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders, weighing and measuring ingredients, and detecting therapeutic incompatibilities.
  • Medication Management: Dispense medication by planning, implementing, or maintaining procedures for mixing, packaging, or labeling pharmaceuticals according to policy and legal requirements to ensure quality, security, and proper disposal.
  • Patient Assessment: Assess the identity, strength, or purity of medications.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain records, such as pharmacy files, patient profiles, charge system files, and inventories, narcotics, or controlled drugs.
  • Workplace Safety: Monitor and control medications to prevent errors and adverse reactions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's of Science (B.S.) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Ph.D.) degree accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE).
  • North American Pharmacist Licensure Exam (NAPLEX) and Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Exam (MPJE) certifications.
  • State-specific license where required.
  • Five (5) years experience in a pharmacy environment preferred, with expertise in healthcare, senior living industry, or long-term care environments.

Salary Information

The estimated annual salary for this position is $85,000 - $110,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
