CommQuest is in search of a Jail Aftercare Coordinator. This position is focused on conducting essential Substance Use Disorder (SUD) evaluations in person, facilitating a seamless transition to aftercare services. The role also involves assisting the current Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant (CDCA) to ensure they can prioritize their work with existing residential clients. Additionally, the coordinator will offer transportation and direct support from incarceration to available services.

Essential Duties:

  • Communication: Exhibit honesty and respectful dialogue with colleagues and clients to foster a trauma-informed care environment, ensuring emotional, psychological, and physical safety.
  • Client Orientation: Guide new clients through the agency's treatment philosophy, operational hours, service offerings, client rights and responsibilities, grievance procedures, and confidentiality regulations.
  • Experience Required: Background in working with adults and children facing severe mental health challenges or addiction recovery, along with strong communication skills.
  • Crisis Intervention: Provide necessary crisis intervention and client/family education, demonstrating proficiency in clinical documentation and supervisory evaluations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Schedule:

This is a Temporary, Full-Time position. Candidates must have been unemployed for the past six months to qualify for the grant.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in counseling, social work, or a related field. Certification as CDCA, LCDC II, LCDC III, LICDC, or LICDC-CS is mandatory. A minimum of one year of experience as a chemical dependency counselor is required. Experience with adolescents is necessary if working with this population. Knowledge of addiction, Alcoholics Anonymous, and other 12-step programs, as well as assessments, treatment planning, and counseling techniques, is essential. Proficiency in written and spoken English is required.
  • Ability to interact with the public during crisis situations while maintaining composure and assessing situations effectively to support vulnerable populations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, effective verbal and written communication abilities, discretion in handling confidential information, sound judgment, and organizational skills are essential. Fluency in English is required.
  • Physical capability to navigate the facility, including standing and climbing stairs as necessary. A valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and a compliant driving record are required. Background checks will be conducted in accordance with agency standards.
  • Additional criteria may be required by Ohio Means Jobs.
